Radio advertising is a way to promote a product or service by purchasing ad time on a radio station. The station then broadcasts the ad to its listeners.
How it works
- Select radio stations: Choose radio stations that reach your target audience.
- Contact radio stations: Ask the stations for available ad time and formats.
- Book ad time: Select the time slots and ad formats you want to use.
- Sign a contract: Agree to the terms of the contract with the radio station.
- Submit your ad: Provide the radio station with your ad.
- Broadcast: The radio station will play your ad during the scheduled time slots.
Types of radio ads
- Spot commercials: Short ads that are usually no longer than one minute
- Infomercials: Longer ads that can run for up to 60 minutes or more
- Live reads: An on-air personality reads a script
- Sponsorships: A business sponsors a radio segment, such as traffic or weather
- Produced spots: Ads that include music, sound effects, or jingles
